What hair type do you have?
It is important to know what type of hair you have when choosing products and styling your hair. Another important thing to consider, in addition to hair type, is whether your hair has low or high porosity .
Keep reading if you want to know more about the 12 different hair types that exist.
MULTIPLE TYPES OF STRAIGHT, WAVY, CURLY & CURLY
There are 3 different types within each hair type category, we call them:
1a, 1b, 1c
2a, 2b, 2c
3a, 3b, 3c etc.
Autumn & Winter
When weather, wind and cold do their part to create lifeless and dull hair, we always recommend Shampookaka Chamomile (Hairdresser's Choice!) or the unscented Shampoo Bar as these provide the most moisture. During this time of year it is also important to keep in mind that you will need to give both your hair and scalp extra love and moisture.
Feel free to do a scalp scrub every other week using sugar and then apply a warm (lukewarm) hair mask with coconut oil (choose virgin). or another oil that suits your type. We love Argan oil!

Hair type 1: Straight
Hair type 1 is naturally straight. This hair type tends to be very shiny and soft and the hair feels slightly greasy and oily.
SEVERAL TYPES OF STRAIGHT HAIR
There are 3 different hair types of straight hair, we call them 1a, 1b, and 1c.
Hair type 1a is straight and is found mainly in Asians, while hair types 1b and 1c are more common hair types.
They are not as straight as type 1a, which makes them easier to hold heat styling as curls/waves do not fall out as easily as hair type 1a which is too soft for that.
Hair type 1c gets slightly disheveled and has slightly thicker hair.
For this hair type, Shampookaka Vanilla is perfect! If you want, you can alternate with Shampookaka Chamomile from Dalarnas EKO.
This hair type rarely needs to be supplemented with conditioner if you use Dalarnas EKO hair care. One tip is to invest in a small conditioner cake or Jojoba oil that you can use from time to time on the ends to prevent split ends and protect the hair from heat.
Apply Jojoba Oil to WET hair to lock in moisture.

Hair type 2: Wavy
Hair type 2 is naturally wavy. This hair type is not dry but also not as oily as straight hair.
Hair type 2a is the typical beach look with barely any frizz. This hair type is easily weighed down if too much product is used during styling.
Hair type 2b has slightly tighter waves and is drier and frizzier. If you have this hair type, lighter leave-in and gel are preferable to remove frizz and add shine.
Hair type 2c is the hair type under type 2 that has the most frizz. This hair type is very wavy, almost on the verge of being curly. Here you should use both leave-in and gel.
Chamomile Shampoo is perfect for this hair type! If you want, you can alternate with any shampoo bar from Dalarnas Ekobutik Organic Cosmetics.
Hair type 2a rarely needs to be supplemented with conditioner if you use Dalarnas EKO hair care. One tip is to invest in a small Balsam cake or Argan oil that you can use from time to time on the ends to prevent split ends and protect the hair from heat.
Hair types 2b & 2c do well with Balsam Cake and Argan Oil - you can also choose Shampoo Bergamot & Neroli with extra moisture and protein that strengthens the hair.
Apply Argan Oil to WET hair to lock in moisture.

Hair type 3: Curly
Hair type 3 varies from “S”-shaped curls to corkscrew curls. The hallmark of hair type 3 is that it is very dry and frizzy . This is because the oils from the scalp that the body naturally produces have difficulty finding their way down to the ends of the hair. Hair type 3 may appear straight when the hair is wet, but becomes curly as soon as it dries.
Hair type 3a has “S” shaped waves and can be slightly shiny, but still has some frizz.
Hair type 3b has a combination texture with tighter curls that start to resemble corkscrews but also “S” shaped waves. This hair type is frizzy and dry and needs help with the right products.
Hair type 3c is very curly with real corkscrews. This hair type, although dry and frizzy, is easier to style as the curls do not need to be manipulated as much.
For this hair type , Shampookaka Lavender, Radical Moisture is perfect! If you want, you can alternate with the PRO Growth series from Dalarnas Ekobutik Organic Cosmetics.
The ones that provide the most moisture are Lavender, PRO Growth and the Fragrance-Free Shampoo Bar . If you want your hair to smell good, you can mix a few drops of essential oil in water or hair oil and spray it on your hair.
This hair type needs to be supplemented with conditioner and a good oil to lock in plenty of moisture. A tip is to invest in our Bergamot & Neroli Balsam Cake / Sensitive Balsam Cake, unscented , and Argan Oil, which you can use occasionally on the ends to prevent split ends.
Apply Argan Oil to WET hair to lock in moisture.
Curly hair is best washed less often. In between washes, you can wash your hair with just water and Glycerin for extra hydration. You only need a few drops of Glycerin , too much Glycerin can make your hair feel greasy.
We recommend an extremely small amount of Raw Shea Butter between layers applied to damp hair for extra beautiful volume and defined curls >>

Hair type 4: Curly / Afro
Hair type 4 is curly and does not have the same type of curls as hair type 3. Here the curls are so dense and compact that they have a completely different texture. Distinctive for curly hair is that it does not become straight when wet, unlike hair type 3. Here the scalp's natural sebum has even more difficulty finding its way down to the ends of the hair, which makes the hair very dry.
Hair type 4a is soft with well-defined curls. This hair type falls down and has clearly shaped curls.
Hair type 4b is more compact and has well-defined curls, so-called cylinder curls. However, the curls are less defined than hair type 4b.
Hair type 4c has such compact curls that it sometimes doesn't look curly at all. A major characteristic of hair type 4c is that the length shrinks to more than half its length when dry.
For this hair type , Shampoo Cake Lavender, Radical Moisture + PRO Growth series is perfect! If you want, you can alternate with any shampoo cake from Dalarnas Ekobutik Organic Cosmetics.
